Suggestions for warrior-archetypal integral semiotic dialogue in the Middle-Ludosphere:
- Each participant reduces their argument to a series of explicit attentional templates which can be communicated as meditative injunctions and practiced individually.
- Each participant (called an opponent) then commits to meditate using the template-injunctions presented by their opponent, in isolation from their opponent. Sufficient competence is reached when all templates recommended by the opponent can be held simultaneously for several minutes.
- Once all templates have been trained to sufficient competence, opponents sit facing each other in meditative pose, and each commits to holding their opponent’s recommended templates while looking their opponent in the eye for a mutually-agreed and specified duration of time. This begins the face-off between the opponents, during which time they unflinchingly look into each other’s eyes with each attempting to the view the world as the other claims to view it.
- Optionally, during the face-off, a third party might repeatedly remind the participants that any obvious inauthenticity on the side of one participant will affect the other participant’s willingness to take their opponent’s perspective.
- After the face-off, each participant closes their eyes and reverts to their own perspective for several minutes in silence.
Cultivation of fearlessness, unapologetic personhood and enjoyment of the ordinary would be exceptionally rewarding in the context of this practice.
